Bunker Maintenance

We just added 23 tons of new Pro Angle sand to our bunkers. We focused primarily on greenside bunkers as those bunkers tend to lose the most sand from golf shots. Our goal is to maintain 4-5" of sand in most of our bunkers. Fairway bunkers will sometimes tend to have less sand than greenside bunkers due to their shallow construction. The shallow bedrock of our property makes it difficult to have deep bunkers that hold more sand, so we will often have more shallow sand depths than other clubs. For example, one of my more recent construction projects required 6-8" of compacted sand in the bunkers. Most of our bunkers would not be able to accommodate such depths.
