Short Game Regrassing

The seed has been slow to germinate but we are finally approaching the completion of the grow-in. The 007 bentgrass that was used is a much finer bladed grass that will be much nicer to play from. The grass also has a high tolerance for heat and drought stress which will help enable us to create the firm and fast conditions that many golfer's are looking for. The grass is also very resistant to many common turfgrass diseases which will allow to make fewer fungicide applications.
The area receives 0.2 lbs of nitrogen every four days. We are currently mowing the fairway twice a week. We are still waiting for a few small areas to completely fill in before the grow-in can be considered complete.
